My Pinterest Faves Part 2

Hey Beautiful Readers!

For those of you who have been here for a while, this week we are back for the second edition of My Pinterest Faves. Be sure to check out Week 5’s post here https://www.thecalmbride.com/post/my-pinterest-faves-mini-series-1  for the first My Pinterest Faves, Guestbooks.

There are so many creative components to weddings that Pinterest does a great job sharing inspiration for and this week's highlight is Favors. Some of you might be thinking… Favors? What even are those? Do I have to do them?

The answer is, Of course not. Not everyone gives a favor at the end of the night, and I will be the first to admit that the long-told tale is true - most people either lose, misplace or simply don’t take one. Yet, a vast majority of couples still include some form of one as a final element of their celebration.

For those of you that immediately said “Well why would I do that if people don’t even take them?” and for some of you that might be enough to scratch it all together. But for those of you who still want to do something, hopefully, this list of ideas gives you a bit of inspiration or a spark of creativity to come up with something unique of your own!

Here are 10 examples of favors that are unique, and eye-catching, more likely to grab your guests' attention!

  1. The Classic Koozie: this is a staple wedding favor and we’re all likely to already have a few - but you can’t tell me they don’t come in handy when entertaining, drinking on the beach, or even just on a hot day in the backyard to keep a drink cold. Personalizing your koozie with a funny saying or image of your pet is another great way to put a spin on something a bit more common!

  2. “Take a Shot, We Tied The Knot”: A good nightcap is always important, so why not surprise your guests with an airplane bottle so they can do one last cheer to commemorate the celebration! This is a great way to almost guarantee your guests take, and make use of, the favors you pay for… and you can even enjoy it with them! Printing custom stickers or labels is a cheap and easy way to add personalized enhancements to these as well, and make sure to use a liquor that you both like!

  3. Mints: this might seem so simple, but there are a few ways i’ve seen this

done and let’s be honest, we could all use one at the end of a night of drinking, dancing, and eating. Tik tak boxes, individually wrapped lifesavers, maybe even a pack of gum with a personalized label on it. Whichever route you choose, this is a budget friendly and useful favor that is usually paired with the saying “mint to be” in celebration of the couple's love!

4. Candles: I absolutely LOVE this idea, because there’s very few people that could tell me they’d never use a candle anywhere. At home, at your desk, we all use them and most of us have multiple per room. I love this example here of a small basic candle with some florals in the wax, and a sticker / note on the top. This idea lends itself to so much creative freedom, I can’t wait to see what unique ideas my readers and future brides come up with in this realm.

5. Bookmarks: This one is definitely for a book loving couple, and maybe a more niche choice, but it really stands out to me for its useful and uniqueness. Whether you are an avid reader or not, you can utilize bookmarks in notebooks, magazines, cook books and more.

6. Edible treats: I had to keep this one broad because there’s just too many to name and I wanted to include them all. Individual bags of popcorn, candy, chocolates, cookies, the list goes on and on. Order a small custom paper bag on Etsy with your last name and wedding date, add in some of your favorite late night snacks or cheat day indulgences, and allow your guests to leave with a party favor they’ll enjoy before half of them make it home.

7. Pet Treats: Is your furry friend looking for a place in your wedding? A pet treats station acts as an interactive favor, allows you to incorporate your pet into your special day, and for those guests with pets of their own at home, they’ll love being able to come back after a few nights away to some new treats or a bone.

8. Magnets: If you’re anything like me and never have enough magnets / clips to hold all your holiday cards and invitations on your fridge, you’d never be disappointed at the sight of a new magnet. This is a fun way to add your logo, hashtag, wedding date or names, maybe even a short thank you or funny saying that your guests can use in their homes and always remember the celebration they shared with you.

9. Honey: Honey is actually an ancient symbol of love, affection, and is a symbol of abundance. It has been long used in weddings as a favor or tradition, and in this case, individual mini jars of honey with a small stir stick or customized label serve as a perfect favor. It is even believed that this is meant to bring good luck to the couple.

10. Succulents or Flowers: I have seen the use of fake succulents, and i’ve seen couples give plantable seeds so guests can grow their own plants, always holding onto the memory of the celebration it came from. People will be able to enjoy this, real or fake, for an extended period of time and it’s a great useful favor option.

The list obviously goes on, and this one might need its own part two, especially as I interact with more and more couples and get to hear all of their exciting ideas. I’d love to hear feedback from my readers on their unique favor ideas, or questions they have on favors in general. What else would you like to see highlighted as a Pinterest Fave?
