My Pinterest Faves: Mini Series #1

Hey beautiful readers!

If you've been following along since the beginning, you might remember my mention of my 2024 In’s and Out’s in week two. My favorite “In” is still an interactive or alternative “guest book”.

This week, I'm introducing another mini-series that will also become a recurring reel series on my Instagram (@thecalmbridejax). It only makes sense to start with my favorite, so tonight, I’m diving into a few of the most unique, fun, and creative guest book alternatives that I’ve come across and saved to my Pinterest.

My Pinterest is available to everyone and is used as a main source of inspiration for my couples. New content is added daily, and I'm happy to create custom, private boards for my couples’ event—for a more organized and personalized vision board.

Here are the  first 10 Guest Book Alternatives that caught my attention:

  • Puzzle Pieces: There are so many ways you can do this; make a shape, like a heart, have the other side of the puzzle pieces make a picture, possibly from your engagement shoot. Endless possibilities and options to display it in your home after your wedding!

  • Well Wishes: Rather than just writing their names, allow the guests to leave a short message with a wish or piece of advice for a long happy and healthy marriage! These are so emotional to go back and re-read over the years.

  • Corks: You can, of course, buy corks on Amazon or Etsy and use those for guests to sign and save them in some sort of display. The alternative, however, which I love especially for couples that are wine lovers, is to save your own corks over the years or your engagement and use those!

  • Voicemail (after the tone): I’m sure you’ve all seen this one on TikTok and Instagram, but the interactive retro phone that allows guests to leave the couple a voicemail is a super fun and enjoyable way to commemorate all the people you shared your special day with. I can imagine the laughs it brings to listen back to those voicemails after the wedding. It’s a more personalized touch than just writing their name!

  • Jenga: If you are a game lover or just break them out at family gatherings and holidays, the oversized Jenga blocks provide a ton of space for guests to sign their names and leave a note. The best part, you’ll get to relive the memories every time you play.

  • Vinyl Record: I actually saw this done at a friend's wedding in December and absolutely LOVED it. If you are music fans, record collectors, or just like the idea, this is a very unique way to highlight a special photo of the couple, with enough space for names and notes! Load your wedding song on the record and play it back on your anniversary as you read the sweet messages!

  • Wine Bottles: Another one for the wine lovers or collectors, I’ve seen this one also done in a few different ways. I have a good friend who had an oversized bottle for everyone to sign, and another idea is multiple bottles to be drunk over the years at different milestones the couple celebrates

  • Playing Cards: I can't be the only one who still has a few decks of cards in the closet that I break out every now and then… right? Well if I’m not, the use of playing cards also gives you lots of opportunity to highlight engagement photos and give guests lots of room to leave a personalized message. I do suggest going with multiple decks for larger weddings; you can do the same or different versions.

  • Corn Hole Boards: The Florida girl in me is a big fan of this, and I know it would be a great touch to any couple that utilizes their corn hole boards for outdoor activities, beach fun, family vacations, and more! They’re big, versatile, and you could have guests sign the bean bags too!

  • Go Pro Message: I almost love this one just a little bit more than the voicemail option… it’s giving MTV behind-the-scenes vibes. This is a guest book alternative that you just know your guests are going to enjoy—it’s like giving them a photobooth; the drinks are flowing, the tears are flowing, your guests are happy, and you get a little behind-the-scenes glimpse of their night as they wish you well and leave you a short message!

Are you a bride or groom that has used a unique guest book alternative? Are you a vendor that has seen a creative, interactive idea done at an event you worked?

I’d love to hear and highlight some of the ideas for future couples' inspiration!

What are some other wedding day components you’d like to see me highlight from My Pinterest faves?
