Behind The Scenes with A New Wedding Planner

Hey beautiful readers!

This week, I'm giving you a peek behind the scenes of my journey as a new wedding planner!

My initial goals as a planner included meeting as many vendors in town as possible, getting myself out there, and connecting with prospective brides. Like any business, building meaningful relationships takes time. In just one month, I've cultivated some great connections and witnessed exceptional work from talented individuals.

As I've mentioned before, partnering with the right people is crucial for The Calm Bride experience. Recently, I shared lunch with a local florist, Ashley Lovett from LM Blooms, and our instant connection over our shared respect for the industry inspired me. It reinforced the mission of The Calm Bride: leaving no stone unturned, asking every question, and accounting for every minute while delivering high-end, personable customer service.

I've attended several bridal expos in town, including Eagle Harbor and the Premier Expo, where I've met countless videographers, florists, DJs, decorators, venue hosts, caterers, photographers, and more. I'm excited to highlight future collaborations with these talented professionals.

One of my favorite activities behind the scenes has been touring local venues and exploring my home city of Jacksonville. Having lived here for just over a year, I'm discovering hidden gems all over the city, like The Glass Factory and The Lark. The potential in these blank canvas venues, along with the gorgeous grounds at The San Jose Country Club, is truly inspiring. I'm looking forward to visiting many more places in the coming weeks.

Currently, I'm working with some amazing couples, including my cousin Dana, who is just under 90 days away from her wedding with Patrick. They’re deep into venue tours and finalizing decor and DIY decisions. Despite living in New Jersey, we've been utilizing FaceTime, Instagram, TikTok, & Pinterest DMs, and The Calm Bride suite of Planning Documents to stay connected and share progress. It’ll be an honor to pull their vision together and watch my first Calm Bride walk down the aisle in May!

Things are picking up, and I'm thrilled to see where this month takes me. Let’s connect if you’re here locally, I never turn down a lunch :)

Xoxo,

Alyssa
