Hi! I'm Alyssa Chitwood, the brains and heart behind The Calm Bride. Ever since I was 16, I've approached the art of hosting the perfect party with dedication. Naturally, when I took on the complex task of planning my own wedding, I spent 18 months meticulously crafting every detail and leaving nothing to chance. The result: a commonly over-anxious bride remaining perfectly calm the entire day. When asked, my simple answer was, "I've never been more certain about anything in my life." Which referenced of course, my ​wonderful husband, but also the exceptional team I had assembled and the vision I had so carefully crafted.​ It was on this day that the idea for The Calm Bride was born.
I realized that my dream was to turn my knack for orchestrating a flawless event and my background in hospitality into a pillar of support for other couples as they approach their wedding day. My love for travel pushed me to expand my business and launch my sister brand as a romance and celebration travel advisor. Love Notes & Landmarks rounds out my services, putting me on track to make The Calm Bride your one-stop-shop for everything domestic AND destination weddings. ​

I am constantly pursuing further certifications in both the wedding & travel industry to produce unique events that tell your special love story, in beautiful places around the world. It is the greatest feeling to get to wake up and do something I love every single day, but being part of these moments in each couple's love story truly fuels the passion for what I do.
