Hi! I'm Alyssa Chitwood, the brains and heart behind The Calm Bride. Ever since I was 16, I've approached the art of hosting the perfect party with dedication. Naturally, when I took on the complex task of planning my own wedding, I spent 18 months meticulously crafting every detail and leaving nothing to chance. The result: a commonly over-anxious bride remaining perfectly calm the entire day. When asked, my simple answer was, "I've never been more certain about anything in my life." Which referenced of course, my ​wonderful husband, but also the exceptional team I had assembled and the vision I had so carefully crafted.​ It was on this day that the idea for The Calm Bride was born.
I realized that my dream was to turn my knack for orchestrating a flawless event and my background in hospitality into a pillar of support for other couples as they approach their wedding day. After hearing so many horror stories of struggles couples had with navigating the destination wedding market, I decided that The Calm Bride was moving with us! My love for travel pushed me to expand my business and launch my sister brand as a romance-focused travel advisor, rounding out my services and putting me on track to make The Calm Bride your one-stop-shop for everything Destination Weddings.

My customer-service-driven mindset is at the core of everything I do, ensuring that each couple's journey is marked by confidence and a focus on celebrating their love. I am constantly learning, and traveling myself to offer ongoing advice, destination specific & travel tips, beautiful accommodations and venue options, excursions, and the best indulgences around the world. It is the greatest feeling to get to wake up and do something I love in beautiful places every single day, but being part of these special moments in each couples love story truly fuels my passion for what I do.
